Kesha Nichols
Owner/Instructor/Creative Director

With sweet southern charm and big city smarts, Kesha Nichols is a small town girl who can make any place feel like home. Born and raised in Morganton, North Carolina, Kesha discovered her passion for dance at the age of 4 and danced locally for 14 years. She went on to receive a B.A. in Dance Education from Columbia College in South Carolina, became a dance specialist for the Gifted and Talented Dance Program at Dreher High School, and ultimately decided to make the big move to New York City to pursue her dreams in dance and entertainment.

Soon after arriving in the Big Apple, Kesha booked a highly competitive spot as an NBA dancer, signed with top dance agency, Bloc NY, and has been featured in many film, television, and stage productions. Simultaneously, Kesha established her own dance entertainment company, Sugar & Spice Productions, through which she produced a variety of featured entertainment, live shows, and interactive productions, from music videos to celebrity and corporate events.

Kesha’s experience as a cast member on VH1’s most popular reality show, Basketball Wives, ignited a passion for bringing awareness to the bullying epidemic that is a daily struggle for many individuals from different walks of life. Kesha is an advocate for anti-bullying and a motivational and keynote speaker for public schools, universities, and private organizations.

After more than a decade of living in NYC, Kesha felt the pull to move back home to North Carolina to reconnect with family and give back to her community. She serves on numerous non-profit boards and community groups with a purpose to motivate and empower our next generation’s leaders.

Kesha honors her roots with her clothing line, Southern Girl Swag, made specifically for women and girls who love to represent the South. Southern Girl Swag is currently sold online and in America’s largest farm and home department store, Rural King.

Most recently, Kesha decided to bring her love of dance and entertainment down south and is now the proud owner of Southern Swag Dance Academy. It is an honor for Kesha to give the gift of dance to aspiring dancers in her hometown. She is excited and hopeful for this next chapter as she continues dancing through life. She knows that all things are possible through the love of Jesus Christ.
